Oxford-based techbio company Scripta Therapeutics are building the future of drug discovery. They needed a brand that showcased the tech, the method and the open nature of their company.
Flipping the script on drug discovery:
Scripta Therapeutics is a brand-new biotech with an extremely promising vision and an experienced founding team. Their novel approach to drug discovery had already earned a significant £12m pre-seed investment. Now they needed a brand, positioning and story that matched their ambition.
Our Approach:
We started with a discovery workshop that went straight into the mission, the vision and heart of what made Scripta tick as well as a deep understanding of the science, and how their approach to biology is going to change drug discovery.
Our goal visually was to match the ambition of this innovative process. We wanted to gain an understanding of the methodology so we could map specific parts of the identity to this.
We analysed transcription factor heat maps and constructed a bespoke grid formation called 'The Encoder' to align with the processes used in the lab. We paired this with a monospaced headline font to speak to the technical side of the brand.
This collaborative approach allowed the Scripta team to understand and adopt all areas of the identity, from logo creation through to font selection and colour palette. Every element of the brand was crafted with precision and delivered with application in mind.
The outcome:
Across the brand, from the logo itself to interactive elements on the website, the science is woven into it clearly and deliberately – a vibrant visual language fused with clean, technical layouts has created something truly unique in the space.
Coupled with frequently used PowerPoint templates, social media kit, and other documentation that is easy to use, scale and adapt to different materials, Scripta are set apart from the pack in techbio, with a brand people want to work with, and work for.
